Goldfrapp

Alison Goldfrapp from Enfield studied for a degree in Fine Art at Middlesex University in the early 90s.

She provided vocals on “Maxinquaye”, award-winning debut of the UK trip-hop artist, Tricky as well as touring with him and working with UK dance music act, Orbital.

She teamed up with the UK soundtrack composer, Will Gregory, and the pair came up with a distinctive sound combining avant garde production and electronics with traditional musical values, with other influences including 60s French pop, Weimar Republic cabaret as well as movie soundtracks.

The critically acclaimed debut album “Felt Montain” was recorded over five months in late 1999 and released in September 2000.

Now Goldfrapp return with a new (less ambiguous) album “Black Cherry.”
