Feeder

This British alternative rock band was formed eight years ago by Grant Nicholas (guitar/vocals) and Jon Lee (drums),

Taka Hirose (bass) was added to the line up, and the band began playing under the name of Real. After signing to the Echo label later in 1995, the band decided to change their name to Feeder, playing their first gig in Somerset in May.

The EP “Two Colours” was released n November 1995, and Feeder supported Terrorvision and Reef in concert. The six-track album, “Swim”, was released in June 1996. Of the early singles “Stereo World”, “Tangerine”, “Cement”, and “Crash” only the last two reached the UK Top 50.

“Polythene” a post-grunge alternative rock album was critically acclaimed and their breakthrough track “High” entered the UK charts at number 24 in October 1997.

Feeder returned in March 1999 with a new single, “Day In Day Out”, followed by “Insomnia” and “Yesterday Went Too Soon.”

The album “Echo Park” featured the track “Buck Rogers” which went into the UK Top 5.

However in January 2002 Jon Lee was found tragically hanged at his home in Miami. Nicholas and Hirose got together with Echo Park producer Gil Norton and recruited Mark Richardson to fill in on drums for the recording of “Comfort In Sound” including the successful singles “Come Back Around”and “Just The Way I’m Feeling.”

In August 2002 Feeder made their live comeback in Portsmouth and in January 2003 were back on tour in the UK for the first time in nearly eighteen months.
