This young band consisting of four siblings, plus a family friend, have developed their own unique sound of innocence and experience.

The original line-up - three sisters and a brother - from Tyler in Texas USA emerged onto the music scene in 1997.

“We really had no clue,” confesses Chauntelle, who, at 21 is the band’s oldest member and unofficial spokesperson.

“The whole idea was for us to try and express what was happening in our little world and to describe it to ourselves. We know each other so well and have shared our lives together, and our music really comes from that common bond. It still surprises us sometimes that people pick up on what we are doing… that they can relate.”

They began playing in coffee houses during 1998. As the band matured they started playing in bigger venues, and by 2001, the band had added non-family member Jonathan Wilson to their lineup as bass player.

The band are signed to Warner Brothers and managed by Coldplay manager Dave Holmes of Nettwerk. Coldplay recruited the band as an opening act on their Texas dates early this year and have added them to their US/Canada Summer Tour.

Meanwhile, “Laughing City” - their first EP, with tracks produced by both Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes and John Goodmanson (Hot Hot Heat) is set for release shortly.
